What is the event most South Africans look forward to during Easter? I would say it is the Rand Easter show. It is held each year at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg. It takes place during the Easter time and is taking place from Friday the 6th of April to Sunday the 15th of April this year. It features food shows, children’s activities, garden shows, performances, extreme zones and many more fun activities. However; as a PR student, I do not feel like there was proper marketing put into place for this year’s show. In the past years, every person would be talking about the show because of how great it was marketed; but now some people even forgot about it. This is because of the little advertising and broadcasting which was put around the event. However; word of mouth and social media became good tools for the show this year, so I trust that a lot of people will be able to enjoy the great festivities which will be offered this year!
I totally agree with you when you say in the past five years every person would be talking about the show because of how great it was marketed but let us hope people enjoy it this year hey.

ReplyDeleteso true!I don't remember seeing an advertisement for the Rand Show trully. The only time I heard about it is when my friend spoke about it. This used to be one of the biggest events of the year and now I am hearing less about it. Hopefully next year will show a better improvement from what we saw this year!
ReplyDeleteThis just goes to show just how much of an impactgood marketing can do for any campaign or event! The turnout fo the event will give the organisers an idea of what to improve on
ReplyDeleteThe Rand Show used to be an event one could not miss out on! But now most people have forgotten about it! They should do something about the activity line-up and should give people something to look forward to as well, for next year
ReplyDeleteYou should also send out your complaints or suggestions to their website (the link i hav inserted after my post) because at the end of the day; every organisation should have room for improvement, which is assisted by the people/stakeholders
ReplyDeleteIn the past; we would have trips as a group of friends to the Rand Show. But now no one ever talks about the Rand Show. I think the organisers should do something to make it more entertaining, like before. Is this the website: www.randshow.co.za?
