MACUFE

IS THIS THE ONE FREE STATE EVENT WORTH ATTENDING?

FREE STATE'S VERY OWN: The Macufe festival

PARTY TRAIN: Oneof the event's sponsors, Shosholoza Meyl
Macufe is an arts and culture event that has been taking place for the past 15 years now. It always happens during late September and early October in Bloemfontein, South Africa. The festival features various musical performances, theatre performances, poetry shows and traditional arts and craft performances. The festival attracts over 140 000 people since its first year and I would personally say that the event sounds like one worth attending! An even greater addition to the event is the fact that the event organisers have great sponsors with different contributions to the success of the event; such as Mageu and South African tourist trains Shoshola Meyl. The train offers what they call a party train, for the festival. The party train transports people to Bloemfontein to attend the festival and also offers a wide range of entertainment such as a dance coach and refreshments during the trip! Factors like these and competitions held by other sponsors also contribute to more attendees at the event. Taking place again in early October this year; I truly believe that this is an event one shouldn’t turn a blind eye to!

  1. This sounds like an exciting event to attend, Especially because of the party train! I would like to be a part of that and just relax because all would be taken care of INCLUDING TRANSPORT

    1. The party train is what I believe to be an attraction for this event because then transport becomes the least of your problems! All that will be left to do is to enjoy!

  2. Nice review on Macufe! I would definetely like to attend this year. However it seems to be an unrecognised event by some people and yet it sounds so amazing? Where might the problem lie?

    1. The problem could be the events planning team. A lot of editing has to be done in the marketing of the event because it really seems to be a well organised event. If people don't know about it, it would be very unfortunate.

  3. That is one event I would personally like to attend. It is suprising that some people including myself, are not familiar with the event.I think this event is great as it takes place inside a train.

    1. Yes, I think it would be wise for the marketing of the event to be improved. We will just have to wait and see how the event's marketing will be this year!

  6. Big ups! Although, I am worried about what "The festival attracts over 140 000 people since its first year" means!?

Has it attracted 140 000 people since its 1st year or does it attract the said number annually?
